Special Units' Sweetheart Party
Past NICU and Intermediate Nursery Babies Reunite in 2007 Spring Event
 | Five-year-old triplets Dana, Felipe Jr. and Diana were among many children who attended this year's Sweetheart Party.

Babies who make the miraculous journey
into this world earlier than expected are
received with passionate attention by a
team of highly trained healthcare professionals
at McAllen Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit (NICU) and Intermediate Nursery.
For these babies, their journey begins with
a stay in these special care units. A team of
nutritionists, physicians, surgeons, therapists
and nurses help tiny patients develop their
strength and health so they can go home.
For 28 years, past patients of McAllen
Medical Center's 30-bed NICU and 30-bed
Intermediate Nursery have come together for
an extraordinary celebration and reunion with
other former NICU babies, family and staff.
This time-honored tradition celebrates the
Valley's first NICU in the Rio Grande Valley
and the many families it has helped. South
Texas Health System delights in this annual
celebration, which brings families and friends
together year after year for a little cake and
a lot of love.
If you or someone you know is a former patient of the NICU or Intermediate Nursery at McAllen Medical Center and would
like to join in our celebration, call 956-632-4191 to be added to the invitation mailing list.
